helping fix a friend's 2.0 alum macbook before he makes an appt with apple store. how to make a bootable cd/dvd that incorporates some troubleshooting tools??
i've tried to use 1) bootCD but it doesn't work correctly on my macbook (during the build process it throws an error and stops) on v.10.5.6; 2) also tried to use DasBoot freeware but it won't find my source cd/dvd on my macbook for some reason - it states it doesn't support osx v10.5.6?? 3) finally, looked at clone x 3 but it's not free. has anyone successfully used these tools?
are there any utilities for mac that will make a custom boot cd/dvd (with network utility, activity monitor, super duper, data rescue, clam x, etc.)?
yes, i can pull his hdd and plug into my macbook, but trying to learn mac here
