I have 2x2T drives that were configured on Mirrored RAID. I noticed recently that the status of the RAID was Degraded and one slice was marked as "Missing". I could not find any option to repair or rebuild hence I simply deleted the RAID and ended up with 2 drives that fully pass all tests.

I want to setup the same Mirror RAID again but without backing up all the data and creating it from scratch. I read that I can create a Degraded RAID via command line using only one drive and then do Repair. However, when I tried it cleaned up the drive I fed to the tool.

Is there a way to actually do it?

P.S. What I am trying to achieve actually is to have data redundancy for my photos. I run Time Machine back up on another internal 2T drive as back up.
