Some of you saw how I had removed the orange from the action button on my Apple Watch Ultra and gave it a brushed finish. I was real happy with that look but I decided to go a step further and see if I could polish the watch to a mirror like finish. Why? Mainly because I have so many bands with highly polished lugs, I thought I might try to match a little better. Not that the lighter titanium clashed. I’m just a sucker for the highly polished watches like the stainless steel Hermes. Those really pop when you wear them in good lighting.

The final result was well worth it. I like this new polished finish even more than the my earlier brushed look. It really matches the polished lugs on my dressier bands better now. It’s not as polished as the stainless steel on my Series 7 but compared to the original Ultra it’s a dramatic change.

Here's a few shots of my newly polished Ultra sporting one of my favorite dress up bands. A Juuk Revo with polished stainless steel.

Now here's my Ultra wearing my classic Apple stainless steel Link Bracelet. It's next to a 45mm stainless steel Series 7 wearing the Juuk Locarno.

Last but not least here is my Ultra with an Hermes Single Tour. I would've never attempted an Hermes band prior to my polishing because of the highly polished lugs on the Hermes band. But I think it looks ok now.

That's pretty sharp, actually! This is why I don't think that the Ultra looks ugly, it's just that the way it was finished could've been a little better while still retaining it's durability, much like the titanium watches from Series 5-7. Now, if Apple were to make it more of that type of finish and offer them in gold and black as well, THEN we'd have a winner!

I thought your last one looked great. This also looks great. I’m not sure I have the bravery to try at least until I get a few scratches.

Now put a classy full Clockology face on it.

You are really good at this mod thing. You should consider buying some extra Ultras, modify and sell them at a little profit for yourself.

Would love to see them release a DLC finished one.

I'd say you should make a video or something on how to do this because I could see a lot of views there. The watch looks pretty cool, it's definitely unique.

Just going to say it, not as cool as the Link Bracelet. For the price of a Revo, you could totally buy a link and polish it up.

Never even seen this band before. All I can say is... i'm glad you like it.

Also, which Apple store did you steal your leather mat from?

Gotta say, your threads are a powerful product placement for Dremel... My hand isn't nearly steady enough to try this myself, but I do like the results your getting-- even just taking the orange off the action button was a win.

Nice! I've done tonnes of polishing of Ti as my bike frame is Ti and gets scratched and weathered so easily.. But - that's using big polishing pads on drills.

I love what you've done with the watch... I love rotary tools.. so fun... Looks wicked.

But why not remove the orange ring?

Wow! So cool! That finish looks better than what apple had in the beginning.

The force is strong with this one. Stunning. It’s much more expensive to get titanium to look this way (vs the easy and cost effective workability of SS.) If Apple offered a polished titanium option I am sure it would be at-least another hundred or two. I call this piece the Ultra 1000$

Certainly a lot of effort and skill has gone into that, well done.
It is not for me though, I’ve always chosen matt/brushed finishes on watches as I don’t like shiny straps.
Well done though.👍

Very much appreciate the effort that’s gone in to doing that. I’m torn but I think for my taste, it’s the subdued matt finish of the titanium that complements the design. I think the Ultra is too large to need extra attention brought to it from being shiny. It works well with the Series because it’s a simple design and a smaller case.

From these photos it looks like the silver link clashes more now rather than blends. Now the links softer sheen is very evident. The Hermès lugs look great though 👌

That looks surprisingly good. Is anyone able to photoshop an Hermes face on to it to see how it looks? The Hermes Circulaire in blue (Indigo) would look great I reckon.

DLC coated Ultra would be my choice for sure. Not so fond of the gloss shine on my watch and would to see a black DLC unit next year.

personally I think you have completely ruined the look of the watch - however each to their own. And good luck with any warranty claim you might have to make in the future 🤔
