I want to create a password for any external devices connected to my MacBook. The reason for that is because I am not the only one who uses it and would not want my personal files being copied or stolen(work files). Is there a way to create a password so anytime there is an external device connected, you need permission to use it?

If you have several users on your Mac and you set correct permissions* in the Get Info window, you should be able to deny access to those devices for other users than your own.
Also leave the "Ignore Ownership" checkbox unchecked.
