Creating Sub-Playlists?

I currently have a playlist of music that is set to sync with my iPhone.......All those songs are on it, and work fine

But, Can I make a mini playlist of some of those songs and then copy that playlist over to the iPhone? But the catch is, is it going to copy over the songs 2x? Or will it just take up the same space as 1 song?

Anyone have any tips?
