I've been trying to make a directory into the /var/ but when I write the mkdir name directory...it says mkdir: name : permission denied...

Can someone help me,

Are you "root" as a user or your normal Admin user?

You may have to be root to write to such an important system folder.

May we know, why you want to create a folder there?

It is a command that has to be run with root/admin privileges, so just type "sudo mkdir <foldername>" and it will ask for a password to successfully run the command.

If you don't know why you're having trouble writing to /var/ then you shouldn't be trying. Only geeks should be there as you could seriously damage your machine messing around in there. Seriously!
