Hola! I have been messing around with the app mkvtoolnix. i have two mkvs for the movie Akira. One is the American version in English with the resolution of 720p, the other the Japanese version in 1080p. I want the audio track from the USA version to be put alongside my Japanese audio in my Japanese version. Okay groovy. Done. The problem is the fact that when i combine the files accordingly there is roughly a three second difference between the audio and the video (with the new English track).

In summary i have an audio track in a movie added on by mkvtoolnix that doesn't sync up the way i want because it is from a different source and so far the only thing i can think of is timecodes.

mkvtoolnix supports timecode files but the little bit i have read about them (not a lot out there), they are not exactly simple to make. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of info period, which is why i am here. Can someone please give me a guide or explain and help with timecodes? Or maybe there is an alternate method using a different application or combination of them? I have access to OS X, Ubuntu/Linux, Windows xp, and Windows 7. Please someone pretty sweet please help! Thanks very much in advance.
