I haven't seen any recent discussions on this, so here goes. This is mostly a Youtube issue I understand, but there isn't any real up-to-date information out there. Perhaps there's an iPhone videophile that can help.

Problem 1: Getting You Tube video to play on iPhone:
I created and upload two videos, the first was FLV, the second was MOV with H.264 codec. Neither is available to the You Tube app on the phone. Both will show up under My Account on the mobile site. The first is listed as 'Not availble for Moble", the second says "Watch video", but returns the message "This video does not support iPhone".

I thought that You Tube would convert any video I uploaded to the proper format, but I guess not.

Problem 2: What IS the proper format?
My guess would be .mp4? And what about dimensions and aspect ratios? I'ts interesting that the iPhone screen is neither 4:3 OR 16:9.

Thanks.
