Creative Xmod for 2.0 system(Audioengine A5)?

Hello,

My question is: Is a Creative Xmod good in combination with a 2.0 set (Audioengine A5's) or do they only do 'the trick' with 2.1 systems as the Harman Kardon soundsticks?
