I've recently bought a iMac, which is my first time using a mac computer. And it's awesome, but I fear there may be a problem with the Video card, hopefully it's a software issue, maybe you could shed some light.
Yesterday I've opened up a video file in quicktime, and when I pressed Play the audio started playing normally but the video was just solid green with a couple of weird dotted light green lines. The computer stopped being responsive and no matter what I pressed it would not do anything. After a couple of minutes being stuck the screen suddenly gone black while the computer was still on. Another couple of minutes later the computer was shut down. I had to wait a few minutes before the Power button responded, and the OS came up normally. And when I tried to play the file again it played fine. But the same thing happened today.
I hope that it's not a hardware issue because it would suck to send my week old shiny new iMac to get fixed for I dont know how long. Do you have any idea what could this problem be?
