Well, I finally dropped my iphone 2g FW 2.1 one too many times on a tiled floor. There is a dead row of pixels across the top of the screen and the upper half of the screen doesn't respond to touch. I've had it 18 months and there is no way to return it to :apple: ;)

I would like to know if anyone has attempted the diy screen replacement talked about at pdaparts.com. Were you successful...or is it not to be attempted by amateurs? Don't really want to buy 3g as I'm holding out for version 2,1.

Any advice? Thanks.
