Hi all -

Hopefully you can spread the word on this. There is a bug in Mac OS Developer Beta 15.4.1 that causes a full kernel panic if you use a virtualization software like Docker, OrbStack, or Parallels. In my case, if you attempt to start Docker, it causes a full kernel panic and restart. Many people start Docker on startup, so it can cause a crash loop that requires you to enter safe mode to simply start your computer. It also messes with the firmware so if you attempt to erase all content and settings you must revive your Mac using another Mac. Wasted a whole Saturday on this and I thought I would save everyone some time.

I'm having the same issues with Parallels. The question in my mind is how long will it take for a new version to be released that addresses this? For me, the downgrade seems like it will likely take about 3-4 hours in all, so I can wait a week, but not sure much longer than that. Thoughts?

I've heard through the grapevine it's a critical priority for both Apple and these companies but it will likely be weeks not days. If it's important I would recommend downgrade, just make sure you have a spare Mac because I think for many Macs you must do a firmware restore too which necessitates connecting to another Mac to revive it otherwise you have to bring it to the Apple Store. Thankfully I just bought a Mac Mini last week otherwise I would have been SOL.
