don't remember it being like that on 4.0.1

Don't really care, just curious :)

looks like the second digit is slightly raised

It looks like the lower part of the 6 is smaller than the 1, so yea it looks crooked. Is this happening with any other numbers besides the 6?

Yeah the 8 too. maybe even other numbers but not with all.

the 3 too.... hmmm

I agree... i noticed this when my iPhone was on 18 percent... it is ALOT more obvious when the one sits next to an 8....

Thought i was going crazy but seeing as you have pointed it out i thought i would throw my hat in....

In both your photos it looks like the second number is smaller than the first digit. (Or maybe raised up 1 pixel?) They're both straight but they don't match each other so they look crooked.

I agree you both have that in your photos, but it does not seem to be the case on my phone:

So I don't know what's going on.

I must be getting real old :(, I can't see anything wrong with those pics LOL

Did you click on Anim8or's picture to blow it up? Can you see how the 8 is pretty much touching the 1 and doesn't look like it matches? Compare that 1-8 to my 8-3 and it's pretty each to see the difference between the 2.

EDIT: Here take a look:

The 8 - 3 looks normal.
The 1 - 8 is all squished together and the 8 is smaller and thinner than the 1.

looks crooked yeah. anyway i never turned battery status on since i bought this iPhone 4, coz the dropping percentage makes me paranoid about my battery life

It's because the flat sides of the '1' are not anti-aliased (or are anti-aliased less). They look sharp compared to the smoothed-out curves of other digits.

It's an optical illusion. If you look at it on a pixel level, they're aligned just fine.

I assure you all that this display problem only appears when in the 'teens' for battery percentage...

All other percentages (that i have noticed/looked at since the error)(See attached image of 88%) appear to be normal.... i think its just a slight error in the '1' digit for the teens....

I don't often let my phone run down as much as i did the day i noticed it, but it certainly looked wrong enough for me to screenshot it then and there.

I may submit the image to apple to see if they can resolve it in the upcoming update, although i am not too fussed either way, just thought i would say something seeing as someone else brought it up.

PS the Wallpaper was found on one of the threads on here....

The fact that this forum harbours some of the most pernickety apple fans I have ever come across, i find it hilarious that people have posted saying what is the point that people have noticed this.

I DON'T care about this PROBLEM... but i do think it is an error.

It a blatant design error on someones part, one that shouldn't have happened, but so minuscule that i bet millions would never notice, even the designer/coder responsible for this piece of information being displayed on the iPhone.

Now for all those who felt the need to ridicule both the OP and most likely myself for noticing this too... perhaps its you who need to get a life.

It seems to me that if anyone voices an opinion that even slightly tarnishes apple's oh so perfect reputation they are shot down in flames.
