Cross-platform Web monitoring/Parental control suite for Educational Wi-Fi network ??

Does anyone have any experience with this kind of setup? I am using Airport Extreme's to provide wireless access to the internet at a local school, the AE Main will be connected to a Mac Pro (Running Squid for web caching) but i am in dire need of a Web monitoring / Parental control suite to control what sites the pupils can access, the biggest problem is that it needs to work with both PC and Mac (all browsers included!)

Any help would be much appreciated!

Squid can be used to control what sites are visited. There are also several scripts that can provide reasonably real-time reporting.

Is there a good reference page for squid ? and as i am by no means a programmer, how easy do you think this sort of solution would be to configure and support ? Installing the network i can deal with, but what's squid like to play with ?
