So far it’s a disaster!
At the moment I’m trying to get a Sharp LCD, model LL-172C-B to play nicely with my mainstay Sony Multiscan400PS.
This computer is a Mac Pro 2008 with the Radeon 2600 vid card.

The immediate plan is to use the Sony CRT as the main monitor, and the Sharp LCD to display freeze-framed video and jpegs for scrap, and hopefully Photoshop and Painter GUIs as well.

No joy. The scrappy little Sharp takes over. Though the menu bar is on the Sony, the Arrow remains on the Sharp.
Having no control on the Sony’s main screen, I couldn’t even shut down the Mac, having no arrow/pointer.

Further, the resolution for both monitors, it seems, cannot be independently controlled.

What do you suggest be done to resolve this problem?

HEEEEEELP !!!!!
please.

p.s.: Please don’t try to sell me on getting a new-fangled monitor to use as my main display, unless you want me to go into a lengthly diatribe on the myriad advantages of CRTs. Besides, I’ve a Sony 22” CPD520P with only a year’s use, waiting in the wings.
