I mananged to get a replacement mbp from Apple through the CRU (Customer Replacement Unit) program. Was something seriously wrong with my previous mbp.

Any idea if the MBP is to be brand new or refurbished?

I customised it to the 2.6Ghz and 200GB 7200rpm configuration, and from what I heard refurbished macs can't be configured. Hence it has to be brand new right?

I asked the apple product specialist/ customer representative and they said it was brand new as if I were to buy it from the Apple online store; but the order number they gave doesn't resemble an online store number. (i.e. no W in front and having more numbers). Do I have any reason to believe it is not brand new and refurbished?

A little paranoid here heh... I am picky about what I get :D

Cheers!

The 2.6 Ghz MBP's have only been out for a few days, not long enough for there to be any refurbished ones. Pretty sure you got a new one.

apparently i have a 2.4Ghz on order.

the person made a mistake. I have even been billed for the upgrade to the 2.6Ghz.

argh...

well a cru means that you will get a new computer. I am in the same boot they had cru'd my macbook pro and they took the box too and they said it would be like buying a new computer. The only thing is that it takes a long time.

O One more thing does any one know how long a CRU is suppose to take?? Mine has been almost two weeks so i am trying to find out what the averge time is ??:confused:
