I'm really interested in adding this to my current set up but just wanted to know what the difference from this one:

For your purposes, no difference. Get the cheaper one. I have the m4 512GB too. Thing is a beast. Worth every 736 dollars that I spent months ago! Solid state is the way to go. The experience you will get is just so amazingly awesome!

What's funny is that the cheaper one includes an adapter bracket, that's the only difference.

I've also got the 512g M4, and yes - the thing is a beast.

How is the speed and the battery life affected with this drive. I don't really care about short boot times if there aren't other benefits.

That's what I figured but I just wanted to double check. I'm glad I'm jumped on it. I told myself that I wouldn't buy an SSD unless it was closer to a $1/GB or less than that.

I've had my sights on an M4 or an 830 for quite some time now. So I'll *hopefully* be content. Haha
