Hi,

I'be got a Late 2011 MBP with a Cruclal M4 SSD that was purchased at the same time.

Recently, in the past few weeks, I've noticed that OS X seems to be randomly hangings with beachball (particularly since I installed 10.9 GM).

The MacBook itself goes through some wear, I do minor building with Xcode, but not much.

Last night, I did a disk integrity check, it failed - tried within recovery, and it failed again. So I wiped the drive and reinstalled Lion, then upgraded to the GM again.

So far, there have been a few random hangs with beachball since the reinstall.

Do you think the drive is dying?

Worth noting that I've already got my data backed up and a Samsung 840 Pro coming tomorrow.

It's definitely because of 10.9, I've had the same problem ever since I installed 10.9 GM with the same SSD. The beachball would appear for less than half a sec. Some other people are reporting the same thing.

Thanks - though in my case the beach ball is staying there until I do a hard reset
