You can get Mac-certified RAM for ~$120 shipped from OWC and other places.

Spend a wee bit more and get something which won't randomly screw up your Mac. They're picky beasts.

This was on sale at newegg. Some of the reviewers said that it worked in their apple laptops. Any opinions. Comes out to a little under $110 shipped
Crucial 1GB 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM Notebook Memory - OEM

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145068

wanted to use this in my 12" 1.5 pb

Of course, for that machine that is perfect memory. I have the same stick in my Powerbook. Crucial is one of the best names in the business. Fine choice.

But why would you bother dealing with NewEgg when Data Memory Systems has it for US$112.00, free shipping, or the Samsung genuine for US$124.00?

Because $102 plus shipping is still less with NewEgg. AND Crucial is a better brand IMHO.

I have generic (OWC) in my iMac because it was a lot cheaper, but when Crucial's is cheaper, I no doubt go for it.

The Swissbit ($112) or Samsung ($124) modules are the equal of Crucial in performance, reliability and warranty IMO.

DMS knows Macs, they provide personal service, and they have no restocking charge if you need to send something back.

At NewEgg you get bupkis, and you save a whole $2.00
