Thanks. These speeds are pretty much as expected. With my USB-C Samsung T7 Shield, my M4 Mac mini's Thunderbolt 4 / USB 4 ports are faster than my M1 Mac mini's Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports. Note though that the speeds on my 2017 iMac Core i5 are just as fast as the M4.

OTOH, the USB 3 ports on the front of my M4 Mac mini are significantly slower.

However, I think more important are the random read/write speeds for most usage.

Yes, I've noticed that this is quite random from one Mac to another.

Unfortunately, I can't say anything about random read/write speeds yet.

I've only done mirrored transfers from my BX500 SATA SSDs, except with my first test, 30GB from my iMac M1 -> Crucial X9 Pro in 25 seconds. This is perfect for me as I rarely move such large files ;)
