Cruddy wifi... iPhone or mbp?

Hey all.

I tried making my mbp into a wifi access point but the Internet speeds are horrible. My school wifi however is noticibly better. Is this a problem with the iPhone or my mbp? Its so slow that using edge in here is faster!

Slow Wifi Access on iPhone

Enable WEP security worked for me. I had extremely slow access before doing it. It now seems to be as fast as my desktop.
