Crystal film for ipad 2 back

Anyone try or know if the crystal film or one of the cheaper speck films can be used on the back. With manual cutouts for the camera and speaker of course. Like the one for ip4? Not sure if the static cling will work on the aluminium sine ip4 had a glass back. Back seems very scratch prone.
