Software: CS3 Photoshop 10.0.1, MacOSX 10.5.8
Problem: Until recently I had been using Photoshop CS3 and various versions of Leopard (including 10.5.8 for a while now) without any issues. But now launching Photoshop & attempting to use any of the tools on the toolbar gives me the following error message: "Could not complete your request because of a program error."
I have searched around for solutions, and found many to try. Unfortunately, I still do not have a permanent solution. Here is what I have tried (without success):
Checking for Mac updates
Checking to see if hard disk needed repair (it didn't) via Disk Utility
Verify & repair disk permissions using Disk Utility
Deleting Photoshop prefs (by holding command-option-shift at program launch)
Launching & quitting Photoshop in safe mode, then restarting
Reinstalling Photoshop
Repair disk permissions (again) using the Cocktail program
Emptying all caches using Cocktail (I selected every possible cache under 'options')
Holding command-s at the chime and typing "fsck -fy" (it checked many things and said the HD was normal)
Note that Photoshop does work correctly in safe mode. Also, I created a second account (I used to only have one account) and Photoshop works fine in my second account.
Of course, having to login to another account every time I want to use Photoshop is highly annoying. Does anyone have any ideas of what else to try?
Thanks!
