Hi all-

I'm looking to upgrade to CS4 but wondering when CS4 was released? I've been caught buying software only to see a new version come out after the fact-

I'm meaning Photoshop not Creative Suite. Basically anyone know when Ps CS5 will be released?

TIA

I'm actually tempted to back to CS3, the CS4 upgrade was expensive and has been terribly unstable for me. After Effects crashes constantly on me, Photoshop crashes fairly often (100% when applying Render Lighting wih a custom omni light), and Illustrator isn't crashy but it's extremely slow, even on a Mac Pro octocore with separate system drive and RAIDed documents drive, especially launch and shutdown.

And all this is happening on 3 different systems (all running 10.5.8). I don't know if Snow Leopard would help but CS3 was much more stable and I miss it.

I have CS4 running on OSX 10.6 and none have given me any problems. No freezing, lag, crashes, not anything. Maybe upgrading will solve your problem.

As for CS5, Finally Photoshop CS5 64bit. The new painting features look amazing.

Well, good thing I didn't buy Ps CS4. I also found some credible info on Adobe that Ps CS5 may well release at the end of this April....

I skipped CS4 since I'm still on 10.5. I'm gonna get a SSD when I upgrade to 10.6.

Maybe CS5 applications will start up in under a minutes. That would be a nice change. CS4 apps take forever to launch for me.

...20 days to go, until they announce CS5, or until they release CS5?

The release (launch) date has been announced. More to read, it seems one month after the launch the suite is going to be shipped.

Just saw on MacWorld UK that CS5 worldwide launch date has been announced as April 12th - so you may want to hold on...
