I just heard on CNN that a cuban airliner had been hijacked by 6 men, but was safely landed in Florida (I think) after being followed by US fighters. The hostages were saved, and the hijackers are in custody.

I hope this isn't the beginning of terrorist actions against the US and their allies. As the deadline for saddam leaving Iraq has passed, now is a very dangerous time for Americans and many other people around the world.

They probably got sick of fighting off sharks in the ocean and figured they could take a plane. But how scary is that? What if al Queda tried to hijack the plane to hit miami? That's where I'm at! Not cool man... Not cool.

Interesting timing - you can bet the 'escorts' were a little jumpy and just waiting for something to intercept.

But a Douglas DC-3 is not exactly a large plane ;)

Still strange.

The hijackers were probably desperate and were definately not part of any terrorist cell.

They just thought that now would be a good time to get their message across, since the US is up in arms, and they knew that they would be heard. Fortunately, they are cowards, and they are stupid...

Didn't hijackers used to ask to be taken TO Cuba, I think these people just got confused:p

I would sincerely have hated to be cabin crew on that flight... A DC-3? always stooping, hitting your head, walking uphill on the ground... doesn't bear thinking about.

Glad no-one got hurt.

2 clairifications

The reference to child pror was that in the security violation technical document (I was forced to read and reply to) - my infraction was WAY at the bottom but in the same section as child pron violation which was at the top of the page under list of infractions. Yes I agree that my slap would have been followed by and FBI raid so I guess you all can see the exaggeration... it just sucked to break a rule that was in the same paragraph as a 'real crime'

Also my ISP did not 'BIG BROTHER' me... some RIAA dork found the file logged the IP and tracked it to the ISP and reported it. They in turn had to follow up and 'slap' me on the wrist.

Also for the one email feeling sorry for my nephews punishment... as I said my sister would have been proud he did not pay $50 and was able to find it for free (money is tight these days) but the fact the he LIED TO HER when she asked... that was why he was puinished more. So after the month he goes to his buddies house DLs it again and life goes on.

:D

I think you might be posting in the wrong thread, last time I looked, Cuban hijackers have little to do with your nephew's D/Ling habits.:)
