Cubase Recording on Mac

Im trying to record on Cubase LE on a mac 10.6.7 using an rp355 fx through the usb. So far its not working. Anyone have any experience with something like this?
 
macbook pro 10.6.7
with cubase LE 4
guitar is a washburn hb35 connected to a digitech rp355 pedal that is connected to the macbook pro by usb
