Good day, I decided to dust off my mac cube purchased in 2000. Everything works well except the internal CD-Rom drive. Does anyone have a suggestion of where to find a used one, or other alternatives to replace this? I tried an external firewire drive but that doesn't seem to be working either (probably too old to function.) Thanks for any advice. Cheers

You'll be very lucky to find a Cube compatible optical drive which is serviceable. The slot loading iMac G3 has a similar CD-ROM unit, but even when I've found those (3 to date) they've failed to load and/or eject satisfactorily.
I've spent many hours with the drives completely disassembled and tried many suggested fixes, but none have been really successful.
