I've had a cuckoo clock for approx. 3 yrs. Lately when I reset the pinecomb chains the clock will stop working shortly after. I have found that applying extra pressure on the pendulum pinecomb for a short time (<1 min) will usually get it working again. I thought that maybe I was "bottoming out" the chain and it was sticking but it even happens when I don't reset the pinecomb to the very top. The clock is level. Any ideas, anybody?

Cuckoo Reset

A few drops of fine machine oil at the gear end??

Whilst on the subject, my cuckoo clock is out of sync - it does everything right except that the cuckoo is 3 hours behind and no amount of resetting the time or stopping/restarting it seems to help. Any ideas ?
