I'm looking to buy an iPhone in the states on release day and will be moving to New Zealand in August. Both the U.S. and New Zealand are "iPhone" countries. My question is, if you buy an iPhone in the states can you use it on Vodaphone or are United States iPhones good only on AT&T?

I feel it would make sense that an iPhone bought anywhere is still an iPhone and so long as you use the exclusive service that iPhones work on in a particular country you should be golden.

Wondering if anyone has had any experience with this matter or can shine any light on it for me. Couldn't find much on apple's website.

you could, but you'd have to purchase service here in the states. because they wont let you walk out of the store without it i believe.
