Well I haven't taken the plunge and installed 3.0 on my iPhone yet, and am not super inclined to do so yet, but I'm curious: does putting your phone in DFU mode enable you to re-flash 2.2.1 firmware even though Apple explicitly stated that you cannot go back? I assume the only reason you wouldn't be able to go back is because Apple disabled DFU mode in 10.5.6, but I'm still on 10.5.5 (and you can re-enable DFU mode with 10.5.6). It doesn't seem like there's any hardware reason you couldn't go back.

If anyone is willing to give it a shot to confirm/deny, that would be awesome. If not, I think I may give it a shot in the near future. Mostly just putting the idea out there.
