It looks like it was done on a Mac. I am not that familiar (anymore) with iMovie and have zero experience with Final Cut Pro but would like to do some videos like this for a project I've got coming up. My brain is just pulsing with ideas...

Anyone with an idea what they used? I checked the Apple Store and they have no examples of what iMovie is capable of, and the App Store was less helpful with Final Cut Pro.

iMovie, here may be a tutorial on how to do this:

It can also be created manually with a lot more effort in compositing applications like After Effects or Motion.

Thanks. There's no doubt that they put some work into their little movie, it just looks so cool with the transitions and such... Almost makes me want to be a Kiwi.
