Wouldn't have that extra mb of cache be better than increasing your processor from 2.2 to 2.4?

these benchmarks say no... on the whole. The 2.2 gets .91 of the overall score of the 2.4, and 2.2 is 91% of 2.4, so it seems that the cache doesn't make much difference. The overall difference is particularly impressive for the 2.4 given that it has no advantage in HD and graphics.

I guess you replied before I could try and delte hte thread. did a search and got a link to the anandtech article that spelled it out nicely.
