I have the latest white macbook, the bottom case is really heavy i am wondering if there is any company making a lighter case? thanks

LOL this question...

Do you mean you have a heavy case that you bought for your Macbook or are you talking about the Macbook encasing itself?

There is not a way to make it lighter. It's only 4.5 lbs.

are you sure there is not a way? the bottom case itself weight 1 pound!

let me teach you something son, try to make a carbon fibre bottom case it will weight less than 200g, not a way? you are bs.

Apple make a lighter laptop. It's called the MacBook Air.

I'm pretty sure Jony Ive didn't just add extra heft to the bottom case just for kicks. It will have been designed that way for a reason...

he made it so it is not lighter than macbook pro.

Not much so. 2.13Kg vs 2.04Kg for the 13" MBP.

Aluminium is lighter and stiffer than plastic for the same weight.

How can it be lighter for the same weight? Think you meant that aluminum is lighter for the same mass.

That's not true even if you meant same size. Most plastics are lighter than aluminum for the same size or volume. The problem with the macbook vs the pro is that the plastic macbook is quite a bit thicker than the pro in the plastic casing. The bottom is actually two layers of metal and rubber, rubber being quite heavy, and the metal itself looks like steel instead of aluminum.
