I have an iPhone 3GS running 3.1.2

I want to sell it in preparation for iPhone 4.

I don't really follow the hacking scene, so what's the deal. I need to wipe it and then jailbreak/unlock. Which of the hacking tools should I be using to do this?

I did; I can use pwnage tool/redsnow, but which should I use? but what about the wiping part. I don't want to be stuck with 3.1.3

Don't be so snarky, it would've taken you the same amount of time to type out an answer as it would've to post go to devteam.

No it wouldn't.

If you did your research and you can use either then it doesn't matter which you use.

Since you didn't post any info about saving your blobs in Cydia I doubt you did any research.

I would first check out Spirit.

Great.

So I used pwnage tool and it got to the step where you put it in recovery mode and it didn't work, so now I'm stuck in normal recovery mode and iTunes can't restore the custom IPSW nor can it restore the official 3.1.2

what do I do?
