I'm in a dilemma..
My 15' MacBook Pro 2010 died on me and I'm looking at a new laptop.
Here are my options:
1. For AU$1560 I can get a 1 month old 1st Gen entry-level 15' rMBP (2.3Ghz, 256GB, GT 650M, 8GB RAM) that's second hand;
2. For AU$1729 I can get the 13' rMBP (2.4Ghz 256GB and 8GB RAM);
3. Shove the SSD I used in the 2010 Mac into a second hand 2012 13' MBP (non-retina) - will be faster than the Mac it replaced;
4. Other suggestions
As you can see I'm on a budget and I feel the 1st option is the best because the 1st gen rMBP retains discrete graphics.
I used my MBP for light gaming (Steam games, Civ V), Photoshop, AutoCAD and maybe Logic Pro down the road. 13' seems a bit small, but the retina might cure that.
So what do you all think?
