Lets see words with friends made me give them and email and just about every other app i download for points to get stuff also require and email or a facebook. They wont be the only ones in violation

An email address used as a login or to create an account serves a legitimate purpose. I'm pretty sure this is intended to cover information not required legitimately to use the app.

Further, it seems likely that signup would take place on the web, not in the app.
