iPhone 16 Pro Max Currently part of the iPhone upgrade program - I want out, what to do?

Hi everyone, I am currently on the iPhone upgrade program (iPhone 16 pro max) —

I do not want to continue on the program for the iPhone 17, instead - I’d like to buy it outright or finance with my Apply Card.

How do I go about this?

Do I cancel my current upgrade program and buy the new phone? Will my line automatically transfer over?

Assuming this is the way? If I pay off my balance of $799, apple will then trade my phone in for roughly $700?
