The usual cursor shake does not work well for me on latest Monterey, I have two 43 inch screens and I lose often the cursor. No matter how much I shake it, the cursor is not visible. In rare cases it does work. You get the idea of the screens size, compared with my 16inch MacBook Pro. I'm looking at https://ixeau.com/cursor-pro/ but I need to buy it for 2 Macs, is there an open source free alternative?

Have you tried the Accessibility > Display > Pointer options. Losing my cursor drives me crazy, especially when extended on my iPad so I use a larger one in a bright green. Works great. You can make it quite large, and have a contrasting outline color as well. Maybe that's a good first step to try.

The thing is, the cursor vanishes completely, is invisible. The only way I can get it visible is swipe between desktops with my fingers on the Magic Mouse then I know what screen is the cursor, then I shake it, pause, shake it, pause and eventually it shows. Right now I got into a habit to leave the cursor in the lower right corner area of main screen but is pain to deal with that. A good solution for me would be to have the cursor circled, when I perform a click, I guess.

There's perhaps Jibapps' Displays - that has functions like what you describe, and much more - costs $14,99

You could create your own cursor set using Mousecape if you want, or use try using some that are pre-made.

For the purpose of having increased visibility and your own person style.. Just a tips.

I've made a bunch that can be downloaded free of charge.

or there's this (look at the screenshots to see if setting the cursor hide to never works out for you)

I realized Presentify has the cursor option, I forgot I have this app purchased. I'll try it to see how it works, it has a shortcut to enable or disable the cursor highlight. I was using this app awhile ago.

Updating this post with a simple solution, I simply right-click and the options menu shows up, allowing me to easily find the cursor.
