Cursor lag after MacBook Pro TB wake.

Having an issue about every time I wake my Mac from sleep and the lid is closed and it's connected to my dell 5k monitor. It can easily support the monitor but after the MacBook goes to sleep for longer than 10 minutes I get bad cursor lag on wake with both a Magic Mouse and dell mouse. Have to power cycle the monitor to fix it every time. Suggestions?
