Cursor "sticks" after using spotlight.

I use spotlight and type in what I am looking for. The options come up as planed, but then my cursor kind of sticks and I can't move it down the list of options and click on the one I want.

Has anyone else experienced this? I tried a search but found nothing, it might just be me.

macbook pro/10.5.6.
