Hi!! Just a question on custom screen resolutions on old machines…
I have got two Macs: A Macbook5,2 which runs El Capitan and a Macbook6,1 running High Sierra. Then I’ve got an Optoma HD-20 projector which supports full HD 1920x1080 natively. Both machines work like a charm showing full HD 1080p content. Completely flawless.🥰🥰🥰😍
But:
I’d like to know if it is possible to set up a custom 21:9 resolution in order to see the screen with a cinema format and thus get the system self-adapting from 16:9 (with black bars in the sides of the image) to 21:9 (i.e. 2,35:1) full screen content.
With the Optoma projector, its custom resolution should be 1920x800, and I was able to set this up in the past on other machines with other operating systems ;-)
Just wondering how this could be done on High Sierra and El Capitan with old Geforce 9400M, if possible.
I have been googling on this for days; have come up with nothing useful. What I’ve found is How to Set Custom Resolutions on Mac for Free for newer machines with a retina display.
Thanks in advance.
