Custom Chat bubble COLORs

Is there a way to change just the COLOR of the chat bubbles in the Messages app, similar to T-Mobile G1? SSH? I'm pretty good with directions, if anyone knows a way I will at least attempt!

You'll find Balloon1.png and Balloon2.png in System > PrivateFrameworks > CharKit...

I don't remember the name of the last folder exactly but I think it begins with CharKit. This is on 3.0, for previous versions it is located in the MobileSMS.app folder.

Here's some balloons to edit, start with. Sorry one is pink, a girl wanted me to change her message bubbles.

Hey do you have the original colours? I accidentally deleted my files, and i tried to edit some to make it look like the original but i cant do it properly
