custom email alert on jailbroken iphone

I've seen that you can change the alerts on a jailbroken iPhone by overwriting some system files. My question is, if I were to change the email alert to something longer...say 10 seconds (assuming there's not a length limit), would the phone also vibrate as long as the sound alert is playing (if I have vibrate and sound on of course). Please confirm this for me jailbreakers. Thank you!
