Custom Font Help

Ive been an experienced mac user since I was 7 (HTML, Applescript, Terminal etc) But now have an issue.

I made a custom font using this site ---> www.myscriptfont.com

And when I use it on textedit, the characters " ' and ` dont work. They appear briefly but textedit changes the font to lucida grande. Bascially it wont let me insert any type of quotation mark.
Why?

Sounds like an Autocorrect issue. Perhaps the custom font is "incomplete" i.e. it doesn't have enough glyphs and thus TextEdit is reverting to Lucida Grande.

Try this:
Right click in TextEdit, then Substitutions > uncheck Smart Quotes
