Custom Icon Problem

Hiya,

I'm trying to put a custom icon on my external drive, I've tried different graphics, different file sizes and formats, etc. and this is all I can get out of it. I'm probably missing something obvious but I've tried everything I can think of, and a MRoogle search turned up nothing...

Anyone?

Copy and Paste!

Just open the image, copy the image, and paste.

Yep, that's what I've done, but it gives me the "PNG" placeholder image instead of the actual image that I've copied :\

Well i just did exactly that and it worked just fine....And now i've used QTX to record myself doing it.

The video is private...

I've found that it works on some drives, and not on others... Which is strange, because they're both the same file system with the same permissions (in Disk Utility)...

Fixed it, try now. Don't know why it set to that. It may not work on removable drives.

Use this iConvert, to convert your icon to a Mac compatible icon, then copy and paste.

A possible solution...

Hi everyone, I'm sort of new here for writing, although I have been consulting this forum for quite some time.

So, I found some sort of solution, take a look here

I think it is all about those "preview" icons in the Info windows, they sometimes do not match the actual icons...
