Giz just ran an article on a $3,000 wood back but do we expect some retailers to come up with custom backs that I can just switch out in the near future? This would be better than a case because you then aren't dealing with the bulk or the internal rubbing.

That would be pretty sweet... a proper highly polished carbon fibre back would look extremely mint ...

That example is a tad pricey for me but I love the idea. To be able to customize your iPhone would be great. I just hope apple doesn't get upset about the warranty.

eh, it would definitely void your warranty but what they don't know won't hurt them! just put the original back on if you need to take it in.

Hopefully cnn.cn will start selling backs soon made from China. The stuff I've bought for my Blackberries are excellent.
