Custom Message Sound Help

Hello,

First time MacBook Pro owner here, and so far I am loving learning it. That being said, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to ass customs message sounds. I have added the aiff file to the sounds folder but cannot add it. Any help would be appreciated!
