Hello.

Custom ordered the high end 21.5 Imac with a 512GB SSD. Says estimated arrivals is Aug 30- Sep 1. Should I expect it earlier? What is everyone’s experience?

Also did not get the i7 or 16gb RAM. Mistake? I do zero photo or video editing and probably will not game (though possible light gaming). Will be for regular use and to work from home on my law firm’s remote server. I plan to keep it for at least 5 years.

Thanks all!

You will probably be fine for the first 3 years with your specs, but you did buy almost a two year old CPU (would be no different with the i7, minus the clock speed) and minimum RAM. I would have suggested 16GB at least for longevity. The other pitfall to the 21.5" is no user accessible RAM door :/

As mentioned, you will likely be OK, but year 4 and 5 you could see a slow down. And into year 6 and 7 it could become unusable for your workflows.
