Custom SMS alerts possible ?

Does anyone know if someone has enabled/ hacked the iPhone to allow a user to customise SMS alerts ?

Is there a similar app to iToner that can do this ?

I recall on 1.0.0 someone being able to do this by placing a file in a folder on the iPhone, but I believe that functionality is long gone.

Perhaps when approved 3rd party support comes out we'll have this functionality (again).

You probably will have to wait till the SDK comes out.

I havent hacked mine, but I'd assume that its as simple as replacing one of the existing tones with another tone with the same name and format. But I havent tried it.

jailbreak it and use openssh. my sms alerts are from loops in garage band.
