I am trying to customise my Mac (Mojave) folders using these icons ...

However, using the copy & paste method within the Get Info pane doesn’t work on every folder.
Also, I have tried modifying the main resource Files using the ICNS Files, but when I try and paste the file into the Get Info pane, I’m asked for my password which, once entered, just keeps asking for it again when I try and paste the ICNS File.
Am I doing anything wrong?
How can I modify the main resource icons using the ICNS Files when I’m told the original file is locked and despite entering my password, still won’t accelt the file: just asking for the password again and again?
